Who will be the World's Toughest Mudder in 2012?

worlds toughest mudder
You’ve seen the pictures of the Mudders. Soaked. Mud-caked. Bleeding. Hell, you may have even been one of these people. But running a Tough Mudder—12 miles over military-style obstacles like electric shocks and ice baths—is nothing (and we mean nothing) compared to what will go down on Sunday.
In the final Tough Mudder event of 2012, the world’s top 1,000 diehard Mudders will race for 24 hours lapping an obstacle-ridden course until exhaustion. The obstacles remain a secret until race day, but one thing’s certain—the course will expose the most badass man, woman, and four-person team on the planet. The stipulation? Bragging rights to the title of World’s Toughest Mudder for one year. Oh, and the $15,000 prize, of course.
Here’s what’ll happen
Racers have 24 hours to finish as many laps of the course as they can. At 24:00:00, all competitors will complete their current lap and head to the finish. Winners will be the participants who cross the finish line with the highest number of laps under their belt. If there's a tie for number of laps, whoever crosses the finish line first brings home the gold.
Who’s going to be there
Racers are only eligible if: they finished in the top 5% of a 2012 Tough Mudder course, they were lucky enough to win an entry lottery number, or they raced World’s Toughest Mudder 2011 and are insane enough to come back.
